Gen. 29: Alphonso de Vere.
Gen. 28: Aubrey I de Vere, b. before 1040, d. 1112; m. before 1086, Beatrice. Aubrey was granted land in Essex, Suffolk, and Cambridgeshire by William the Conqueror. In 1084, Aubrey was named Master Chamberlain of England by William I and served as Sheriff of Berkshire around 1106.
Gen. 27: Aubrey II de Vere, b. about 1120, d. 1141 (London, England), bur. Colne Priory (Earls Colne, Essex); m., Adeliza de Clare, between 1090 and 1095, d. 1163. Aubrey served terms as Sheriff of London and Middlesex under Henry I of England. He served as a justice under Henry I and Stephen. In 1133, he inherited the position of Master Chamberlain from his father.
Gen. 26: Aubrey III de Vere, b. about 1110, d. 1194, bur. Colne Priory (Earls Colne, Essex); m. 1161/2, Agnes of Essex, b. 1151/2, d. after 1206, bur. Colne Priory (Earls Colne, Essex). 1st Earl of Oxford. Aubrey inherited the position Master Chamberlain from his father.
Gen. 25: Robert III de Vere, b. about 1170, d. 1221; m. 1207 (Whitchurch, Buckingmanshire), Isabella de Bolebec. Robert was Earl of Oxford. He was part of the resistance against King John I of England and a signer of the Magna Carta.
Gen. 24: Hugh de Vere, b. about 1210, d. about 1263; m. about 1222/3, Hawise de Quincy. Hugh was Earl of Oxford. He inherited the position Master Chamberlain from his father.
Gen. 23: Robert IV de Vere, b. about 1241, d. about 1296, bur. (Earls Colne, Essex); m., Alice de Sanford, d. 1312. Robert was Earl of Oxford and a Member of Parliament. He inherited the position Master Chamberlain from his father.
Gen. 22: Alfonso de Vere, d. 1329; m., Joan Foliot.
Gen. 21: John I de Vere, b.1311/2, d. 1359/60; m. about 1336, Margaret Badlesmere, b. between 1308 and 1310, d. 1366. John was Earl of Oxford and Master Chamberlain of England.
Gen. 20: Margaret de Vere, d. 1398, bur. Greyfriars (London, England); m., Nicholas de Lovaine, b. about 1326, d. between 1375 and 1376.
Gen. 19: Margaret de Lovaine, b. before 1372, d. 1408; m. before 1398, Philip Saint Clair, d. 1408.
